Opened to customers in 2013, Dubai World Central is Dubai’s second airport with a current capacity of 26 million passengers a year.
From now until the end of May, DWC will operate many additional flights due to the refurbishment of the southern runway at Dubai International (DXB).
Here’s some handy info for passengers flying from DWC.
DWC is located in the south of the city, less than 30 minutes from ‘New Dubai’ including the bustling Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah. You can find the airport’s exact location here
- Airport express
During DXB’s runway closure, a free express bus service will run between DXB and DWC every 30 minutes, stopping at all three terminals at DXB.
- RTA taxis
DWC has a dedicated fleet of taxis operated by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The price of taxis from DWC is discounted during the DXB runway project.
- Private taxis
Customers with the Careem app can take advantage of a 25% discount using the code FLYDWC.

DWC has a shaded 2,500-capacity car park which is 100% free for customers.
Shopping and dining
Food outlets at DWC include McDonald’s, Costa and Mezzanine and Al Jadeed Bakery. For shopping – from gifts to travel essentials – head to Dubai Duty Free. Look out for pop-ups from Nutella, Heineken, Costa and Grabb’it, as well as a Rock Shop from Hard Rock Cafe.

During DXB’s 45-day runway project, DWC will handle flights from flydubai, Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Indigo, SpiceJet, Gulf Air, Ukraine International Airlines, Ural Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Kuwait Airways and flynas.
